Food was amazing, service was outstanding. We had a big group. We had four of the pizzas and the carbonara pasta as well as some appetizers. Everything was delicious well portioned and fresh. We did bring a lot of pizza home but it was just as good warmed up or cold! Dessert was also yummy. I love spumoni ice cream, theirs was good! Can't wait to go back!

Hubby wanted to try something different so we decided to explore beyond our Burien bubble. This place is a gem. We shared the pear and gorgonzola salad. They split it to two plates which was nice. We also had the Pompeii but added sausage. The sausage is delicious. I saved room for dessert and we had the Nutella calazone. If you love Nutella as I do, well worth the calories. It is so good. Save room. Service was great. As said, a gem in Des Moines.

This was our first time at Via Marina, convenient location in Des Moines serving Italian food. We tried the puttanesca with a side of anchovies and the special for the night - pork Osso Bucco. Both were good, the pork was tender and fell off the bone. We had the calamari for an appetizer and tiramisu for dessert. Service was excellent, definitely plan to go back soon.

First time customers, loved it. It was pretty busy when we arrived for our reservation at 7 but then it slowed down. Cute little spot in Des Moines, with great food. I only wish there were a few more kid friendly options other than pizza. We'd definitely go back again. Also tried the Cesar salad, it was very good.

Via Marina Wood Fired Pizza & Italian Cafe has easily become one of my go-to spots for Italian food, and it's easy to see why. Stepping into the restaurant, the comforting aroma of wood-fired pizzas wafts through the air, setting the stage for a delightful meal. The decor is what I'd describe as casually elegant, blending rustic elements with contemporary touches. It creates a welcoming ambiance that instantly makes you feel at home. The main attraction here, of course, is the pizzas. Whether you're a fan of the classics or in the mood for something more unique, there's something on the menu for you. The Margherita pizza is a timeless favorite of mine. I appreciate the other options on the menu, such as pasta and salads, but I find myself drawn to the pizzas every time. The other dishes are certainly well-made, but they don't quite capture the same magic. OH! Actually, the calamari here is fantastic as well. The one downside is that the place can get packed during peak hours. It's not uncommon to face some wait times, particularly on weekends. Overall, Via Marina Wood Fired Pizza & Italian Cafe has won me over with its incredible pizzas and warm atmosphere. Definitely worth checking out!

We have not been her since 2016 and recently moved to Des Moines. We arrive about 8:35PM on a Tuesday and they closed at 9PM but they seated us anyway. We split the pear and gorgonzola salad and it was delicious with lots of walnuts and gorgonzola. It came with a plate of pizza crust bread that was excellent. the Cannelloni di Margo and the Chicken Piccata were both good. Portions are not huge but they are adequate and filling. It is not a fancy place but the food is very good and reasonably priced.

Via Marina has been in the Des Moines community for about a decade, and we've been coming here for about as long. My son, who is 11, fell in love with Naples style pizza early like his dad and most kids... When he was about 3 he discovered the Nutella calzone. When he would finish his meal, a pepperoni and bacon happy hour pizza (no basil), he would loudly request a "chocolate pizza". He still enjoys both to this day. My wife gets the white bean salad which may be on a hidden menu now... I usually get a pizza, my recent has bee. The capricciosa, a wonderful mix of ham, olives, mushrooms, and artichokes. Usually I have meat of some sort, but this one is fantastic.
